EvoTears® OMEGA Eye Drops: Designed to relieve dry and irritated eyes

This innovative ingredient effectively and sustainably prevents tear evaporation. It contains no water, eliminating the need for preservatives. Its lipid phase is constructed with omega-3s from algae. The first lotion-free omega-3 dry eye formula effectively prevents evaporation and replenishes the lipid phase. Dry eyes and irritation, such as redness, pain at the eyelid margins upon waking, or flaky eyelids, can indicate impaired meibomian gland function. This leads to a loss of lipids (the oil phase) that protect the tear film from evaporation and is considered a primary cause of dry eye. EvoTears® OMEGA specifically targets dry eyes caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. This eye drop combines the effective evaporation protection of the innovative ingredient perfluorohexyloctane with the benefits of anhydrous omega-3 fatty acids to relieve irritation in the eyes and eyelid margins. Due to its low surface tension, the eye drop quickly diffuses into the tear film and forms a delicate barrier on the tear surface, providing long-lasting protection against premature evaporation. Compared to aqueous formulations, this eye drop requires a significantly smaller drop volume. EvoTears® OMEGA is therefore very cost-effective and, due to its oily nature, is barely noticeable. The anhydrous formula requires no excipients.

Building lipid phases with omega-3 fatty acids from algae
EvoTears® OMEGA is the first emulsion-free omega-3 formula specifically designed for dry eyes. Omega-3 fatty acids are a component of the natural tear film. Dry eyes are often associated with an omega-3 deficiency. The more severe the deficiency, the more severe the tear film disruption and associated corneal damage. The omega-3 fatty acids in EvoTears® OMEGA are derived from algae, not fish. Therefore, these eye drops are also suitable for vegans.

Meibomian gland dysfunction. Meibomian glands, located at the upper and lower eyelids, secrete oily secretions at the eyelid margins and are responsible for the lipid phase of the tear film. Impaired function or blockage of the ducts can lead to disturbances in the lipid phase. Affected patients may complain of dry eyes, tearing, or a burning sensation, as well as crusting or redness of the eyelids.

Hormonal changes: Hormones play a crucial role in the function of the meibomian glands. Hormonal fluctuations, such as those experienced during menopause or during hormonal therapy (e.g., birth control pills), can lead to meibomian gland dysfunction. In men, decreased hormone production can also impair meibomian gland function.

Age-related dry eye: The risk of dry eye increases with aging, as glandular tissue function declines. This leads to a decrease in oil secretion from the meibomian glands, which in turn affects the quality and quantity of the tear film's lipid phase. Using EvoTears® OMEGA can help relieve dry eyes and irritation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should EvoTears® OMEGA eye drops be used?
Typically, two to four times daily is sufficient. Its active ingredient, perfluorohexyloctane, forms a reliable, long-lasting protective barrier on the eye, continuously preventing tear evaporation. EvoTears® OMEGA is very affordable, with each 3 ml bottle providing up to 280 drops. Due to its infrequent use, a single 3 ml bottle lasts a long time. If used four times daily, the treatment course is 35 days. If used twice daily, one bottle is sufficient for 70 days.

How long can I use EvoTears® OMEGA eye drops after opening?
EvoTears® OMEGA eye drops can be used for eight weeks after opening. Please note the opening date printed on the box.

Can I use EvoTears® OMEGA if I wear contact lenses?
If you wear contact lenses, you should not use EvoTears® OMEGA as there is currently insufficient data to confirm its compatibility with contact lenses.

Use unless otherwise advised by your physician:

Apply 1 drop to the lower eyelid 4 times daily.
These eye drops can be used daily.

Instructions for use:

1. Open the bottle.
Remove the cap. Before first use, remove and discard the sealing ring.

2. Gently squeeze the bottle.
Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing up and squeeze gently.

3. Allow air to flow in.
Hold the bottle to your eye, twist the bottle downward, press the dropper tip, and immediately release the pressure. Air will flow into the bottle.

4. Move the bottle over your eyes.
Continuing to hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downward, move it over your eye. Gently press the bottle firmly, apply one drop to each eye, and then replace the cap.

NOTE: Due to the special composition of EvoTears® OMEGA eye drops, you may barely feel the drops spreading in your eyes. In this case, we recommend that you apply the eye drops in front of a mirror or have another person observe you until you are accustomed to the sensation of the drops spreading in your eyes.
