HYLO NIGHT®
Vitamin A Night Repair and Moisturizing Eye Ointment
5g · Contains Vitamin A · Long-lasting night protection · Preservative-free · Can be used with daytime eye drops
HYLO NIGHT® is an eye ointment from the HYLO® series specifically designed for night-time use, developed by German pharmaceutical company URSAPHARM. During sleep, the eyes produce almost no tears, making the ocular surface prone to excessive dryness. It is the ideal night-time complement to daytime eye drops.

Core Ingredients
Vitamin A (Retinol palmitate)
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin essential for maintaining the normal function of epithelial cells on the ocular surface. When used in eye ointment, Vitamin A helps improve the stability of the tear film, allowing it to adhere more evenly to the ocular surface and provide longer-lasting moisturizing effects. During sleep, tear secretion is significantly reduced, and the fat-soluble nature of Vitamin A makes it particularly suitable for long-lasting release in eye ointment form at night, providing continuous moisturizing protection to the ocular surface.
Ophthalmic Ointment Base (Augensalbengrundlage)
HYLO NIGHT® uses an ophthalmic ointment base with a rich, fine texture that forms a long-lasting protective film on the ocular surface, providing continuous moisture and barrier protection throughout the entire sleep period. As the ointment base is water-free, it does not require preservatives and is extremely well-tolerated by the eyes.

Gently pull down the lower eyelid and apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area (inside the lower eyelid)
Gently pull down the lower eyelid with one hand, and with the other hand holding the tube, apply approximately 1cm length of ointment to the inner edge of the lower eyelid. Do not let the tube tip touch the eyeball or eyelashes. A small amount per eye is sufficient; a thin layer is enough to provide night-time protection.

Main Target Audience
Those with particularly dry eyes at night or in the morning
Many dry eye sufferers experience particularly dry, burning eyes, or even difficulty opening their eyes upon waking. This is because tear production almost ceases during sleep, making the ocular surface prone to excessive dryness. Applying HYLO NIGHT® before bed helps provide continuous protection to the ocular surface throughout sleep, helping to improve morning dry eye discomfort.
Those with dry eyes at all stages for daily care
Whether for mild, occasional dry eyes or chronic dry eyes requiring long-term care, HYLO NIGHT® is suitable. Its preservative-free, gentle formula is especially suitable for those who experience night-time eye discomfort despite long-term use of eye drops and wish to establish a complete all-day eye care regimen.
Those already using daytime eye drops but wanting to enhance night-time protection
Using moisturizing eye drops during the day (such as HYLO COMOD® or HYLO CARE®) can supplement the moisture needed during the day, but eye drops are difficult to apply regularly at night. Using HYLO NIGHT® in combination helps establish a complete "daytime eye drops + night-time eye ointment" all-day eye care regimen, providing more comprehensive protection for the eyes.
Those with incomplete eyelid closure during sleep
Some individuals experience incomplete eyelid closure during sleep due to facial paralysis, ectropion, etc., making the ocular surface particularly prone to excessive dryness at night. The ointment texture of HYLO NIGHT® provides a more long-lasting protective layer than eye drops, helping to maintain the basic moisturizing needs of the ocular surface in such cases (consult an ophthalmologist before use).
Important Notes
- This product is an external ophthalmic medical device, not a medication, and cannot replace ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment.
- If you have severe dry eyes, corneal damage, or other eye conditions, please seek medical attention first.
- Do not use if allergic to Vitamin A or any ingredient in the formula.
- Use only before bed; not suitable for daytime use or while wearing contact lenses.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When should HYLO NIGHT® eye ointment be used?
HYLO NIGHT® is designed for night-time use before bed. It is recommended to apply a small amount of ointment to the inner edge of the lower eyelid each night before going to bed, then close your eyes to allow the ointment to spread evenly before sleeping. Due to the thicker consistency of the eye ointment, vision will be temporarily blurred after use, so it is not recommended for use during the day or at any time when clear vision is required.
How does Vitamin A help the eyes?
Vitamin A (Retinol palmitate) is an important fat-soluble vitamin essential for maintaining the normal function of epithelial cells on the ocular surface. It helps improve the stability of the tear film, allowing it to bind more evenly to the ocular surface. When used in eye ointment, the fat-soluble nature of Vitamin A makes it particularly suitable for long-lasting release at night, helping to provide continuous moisturizing protection to the ocular surface throughout sleep.
Can HYLO NIGHT® be used with daytime eye drops?
Yes, this is a recommended way to use it. Use moisturizing eye drops during the day (such as HYLO COMOD® or HYLO CARE®) to supplement daytime moisture, and then use HYLO NIGHT® eye ointment before bed for long-lasting night-time protection. This creates a comprehensive "daytime eye drops + night-time eye ointment" all-day eye care regimen, providing round-the-clock care for your eyes.
Is blurred vision after using eye ointment normal?
Yes, it is normal and no cause for concern. Ophthalmic ointment (Augensalbe) has a thicker consistency than eye drops, and applying it will temporarily cause blurred vision – this is precisely why it can provide long-lasting night-time protection, as the ointment formulation maintains a more durable protective layer on the ocular surface. Therefore, HYLO NIGHT® is only recommended for use before bed; please do not use it during the day or before any activities that require clear vision.
Is this a genuine product directly purchased from the German manufacturer?
Munich Stars sources genuine products through legitimate channels in Germany. All products are original German imports, ensuring quality.
