EvoTears® Eye Drops

Unique*Dry Eyes

  • Innovative ingredient effectively and sustainably prevents tear evaporation
  • No water, so no preservatives or other additives required

Effectively prevent evaporation
If you suffer from dry eyes, in nearly 60% of all affected people, the outermost oily layer of the tears, also known as the lipid (oil) phase, is damaged, which is the sole reason behind the clinical manifestations, leading to premature evaporation of the tear film, which manifests as dry, burning or watery eyes. EvoTears® replaces this lipid phase and therefore proves itself in treating the main cause of dry eye, i.e. lipid phase disorder.

The effective effect and good tolerability of this eye drop are due to the innovative ingredient perfluorohexane and its lack of water.
Perfluorohexyloctane diffuses very quickly through tear fluid, forming a protective layer over the tears. Effectively counteracts premature evaporation and dry eyes, e.g. prevented by intensive screen work. Since this substance has the same refractive index as tears, it does not affect vision. EvoTears® Eye Drops are characterized by high production volume - up to 280 drops per 3 ml - and low frequency of use.

For dry eyes
The EvoTears® Eye Drops are the first water-free eye drops for the treatment of dry eyes. Anhydrous
This brings a decisive advantage: There is no pH value and therefore no pH stabilizers such as phosphates are required. Since bacteria cannot reproduce without water, you can omit the preservative despite using a regular dropper bottle. Adding an emulsifier is also redundant since it is not an oil-water mixture.

application:

  1. Open the bottle and remove the cap. Before first use: Remove and dispose of the seal.
  2. Squeeze the bottle gently Hold the bottle with the dropper tip facing upward and squeeze gently.
  3. Allow air to flow in before placing bottle to eye: twist down on squeezed bottle with dropper tip and immediately release pressure. Air flows into the bottle.
  4. Hold the bottle over your eye, continuing to hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downward, and place it over your eye. Gently squeeze the bottle and cap the bottle, then apply one drop to each eye.

Notice:
Due to the special properties of EvoTears® Eye Drops, you may hardly notice the drops are in your eye. In this case, it is recommended to apply the eye drops in front of a mirror or have a second person observe the application of the eye drops until you get a feel for how the drops feel when distributed over the eye.

Dry eyes are one of the most common eye diseases. It is estimated that one in every six adults in Germany is affected. In most cases, the disease involves a lipid phase disorder. 2. Increased evaporation
and tear film instability leading to dry, burning, or watery eyes. It is also typical to have noticeable symptoms in the morning that improve throughout the day. Lipid phase disturbance is
Caused by the heavy use of digital media such as personal computers, smartphones and tablets. Air flow or air conditioning and adverse climatic conditions, such as cold stimulation, can also affect the lipid phase.

Screen Usage
Causes dry eyes We often sit in front of small or large screens, both professionally and privately, which puts a lot of pressure on our eyes. Bright monitor lights can cause overstimulation, and the blink reflex weakens when we focus: we blink only five times a minute, not 20. As a result, the sebaceous glands in the eyelids, also called meibomian glands, produce less lipid (oil) phase. Without this lipid-containing protective layer, the tear film breaks down prematurely, evaporates, and dry eyes occur. Because EvoTears® specifically replaces the lipid phase, it prevents premature evaporation of the tear film. Aqueous-free eye drops act like a protective coat over your tears, counteracting dry eyes.

FAQ:
How often should I use EvoTears® Eye Drops?
Usually using EvoTears® eye drops two to four times a day is sufficient. The ingredient Perfluorohexyloctane forms an effective protective film that stays on the eyes for a long time, preventing the tear film from evaporating. EvoTears® are very economical, with up to 280 drops per 3 ml content. Due to the low frequency of use, the 3 ml bottle is enough for a long time. If 4 times daily use is required, the range is 35 treatment days. When used twice daily, treatment can last up to 70 days.

Why are the water drops in my eyes barely noticeable?
Thanks to perfluorohexyloctane, EvoTears® has a significantly lower surface tension than water, which means that droplets spread quickly. In addition, it is only about 10 microliters, significantly smaller than water-based eye drops, which have a volume of 30 to 50 microliters. The droplet volume of EvoTears® corresponds to the capacity of the conjunctival sac, so little or no fluid escapes from the eye. EvoTears® has oil-like properties and feels like balm on the eyes. Due to these reasons, the application is considered to be very enjoyable.

How does EvoTears® differ from traditional tear substitutes?
EvoTears® are eye drops with oil-like properties. In contrast to most tear substitutes, they do not replace the aqueous portion of the tear film, but rather the lipid-containing protective film that covers the aqueous phase and protects it from evaporation. In this way, EvoTears® can provide symptomatic relief and specifically address lipid phase disturbances, thereby preventing dry eyes in the long term.

How long can EvoTears® eye drops be used once opened?
EvoTears® Eye Drops can be used for six months after opening the bottle. Please note the opening date on the folding box.

Can I use EvoTears® if I wear contact lenses?
If you wear contact lenses, you should not use EvoTears® as there is insufficient data on compatibility with contact lenses.
Is EvoTears® also suitable for dry and irritated eyes?
Dry and irritated eyes, along with redness and eyelid pain or crusting, are often caused by meibomian gland dysfunction.

In this case, EvoTears® OMEGA is recommended. The eye drops are specifically formulated to relieve symptoms typical of lipid phase disorders caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. In addition to the ingredient PFHexane, these eye drops also contain omega-3 fatty acids, which are components of natural tears. Omega-3 deficiency is often associated with dry eyes3 and can lead to tear film disturbances and corneal damage, with consequences.

What can help relieve dry eyes caused by screen work?
In addition to using EvoTears®, the following behavioral measures can also help relieve symptoms of so-called office eye syndrome:

  • Remember to blink frequently and consciously to keep your eyes hydrated. Sticky notes on the screen can serve as reminders. For stimulation
Tear production, take a short break, and blink several times in rapid succession.
  • Give stressed eyes a break often. If possible, you should take a break from looking at a screen every hour you work.
, but look into the distance.
  • Tired eyes need oxygen to rejuvenate. A short walk outdoors is ideal. If you are in a closed room,
Ventilating the room a few times a day can help.
  • Minimize the use of digital media during your free time. Your eyes will be happy if you take a walk after a long day at work instead of streaming a series. Even small changes in usage behavior can ensure a pleasant relaxation for the eyes.
