The usual dose is 1 ml subcutaneously twice a week to once a day, unless otherwise prescribed by your physician.

Subcutaneous injections are usually given in the outer thigh or upper arm or in the abdomen. After cleaning the injection site (e.g., wiping with 70% alcohol), a skin fold is formed and the injection needle is inserted at an angle. Pull back the syringe plunger slightly. If blood appears, it means a blood vessel has been hit. In this case, repeat the injection at another location.

If no blood appears, inject slowly, then remove the needle and briefly apply pressure to the injection site with a cotton swab.
