Precautions

1. Don’t go on the first day, as there are too many tourists : The Munich Oktoberfest actually lasts for a very long time, so there is really no need to rush to go on the first day, as the first day is the day with the most tourists.
2. No large bags : You are not allowed to bring large bags into the park. Generally speaking, large bags in Germany refer to bags larger than A4 size.
3. Always pay attention to your physical, mental and spiritual safety, and don’t go alone as a girl : Every year, there are news reports of people being assaulted during the Munich Oktoberfest. This is why there are so many police on the streets of Munich every year during the Munich Oktoberfest. It is not recommended for a girl to go alone.
4. Remember to tip : In fact, in Germany, you are required to tip when you dine in a restaurant. Usually, you should give a tip after deducting the remainder or give around 10%.
5. We recommend booking accommodation 6 months in advance : Oktoberfest accommodation is incredibly difficult to book! We recommend booking around March.

clothing

Wear traditional Bavarian clothing to participate~

If you want to better integrate into the Munich Oktoberfest, it is recommended that you prepare traditional Bavarian clothing in advance. The clothing for men and women is slightly different:

  • Boys : The name of the clothing is Lederhose, which means short brown leather pants . It is usually paired with a plaid shirt, white socks, brown leather shoes, suspenders, vests, etc.
  • girl : The name of the dress is Dirndl, a common Alpine girl's dress . It is a dress composed of a bubble short-sleeved top, a vest and an apron. Depending on the wearer, it may become a busty outfit. The bow on the apron on the left represents singleness; on the right, it represents marriage; in the middle, it represents a virgin; and on the back, it represents a waitress or a widow.

gourmet food

It's a common sight to see people with a beer in hand. If you're looking for someone to toast with, there's always someone to offer! The beer is brewed in strict accordance with the " Bavarian Brewing Rules " established in the 16th century. Only the purest ingredients ( water, barley, and hops ) are used to ensure the quality of every beer.

The tent serves some Bavarian dishes. The crispy and tender German pork knuckle goes perfectly with the beer with a strong wheat flavor. German sausages, roast chicken and pretzels of different flavors are the best side dishes for you to drink with friends from all over the world. The waiters are very professional and can take your orders, get your drinks and collect your payment all by themselves!

In addition, the magnificent and sacred twin towers of Notre Dame, the culturally rich Marian Square, and the grain market where you can rest your legs and taste authentic local food are all must-see places.

If you still have energy left to travel after the Oktoberfest, the popular attractions near Munich, such as Lake Königssee, Zugspitze, Linderhof Palace, and Neuschwanstein Castle, are all not to be missed!
